Step 1 — Contacting the Medical Authorities
The first thing which you should do when a death occurs is contacting the necessary medical authorities related to the death.
Step 2 — Obtaining the Medical Certificate
After contacting and informing the particular medical authority, you will be able to obtain the medical certificate which includes the cause of death addressed to the death registrar.
Step 3 — Obtaining Death Certificate
Following the issuing of the medical certificate and by providing it to the death registrar in the particular area you can obtain the death certificate.
Step 4 — Contacting the funeral home
With the issue of the death certificate, further proceedings could be done by contacting the selected funeral home.
Step 5 — Selection of Funeral Package
Along with the assistance of the management, selecting/booking the preferred funeral package should be done as well as the required payments.
Step 6 — Handing over the Body of the Deceased Person
In order to proceed with the funeral arrangements and body preparation, the deceased person will be sent to the funeral service.
Step 7 — Special Steps to Follow
Currently the procedures with regards to the ceremonies have been slightly changed to accommodate the rules and regulations set by the government to maintain the safety measures taken to prevent the spreading of the COVID19. Under the circumstances where the death has taken place at home of the deceased, it is required the PHI in charge of the residential area to be notified and a PCR test to be conducted if necessary. The necessity of the PCR test will be decided by the PHI. Once the PCR test is proven to be negative, the death certificate shall be issued thus moving forward with the proceedings. If in case the PCR test results are proven to be positive, the funeral ceremony shall proceed according to the prevailing Covid-19 guidelines, as required by the authorities.
